Every year, Chinese New Year is a highlight. Friends and family gather and try to make up for the lost moments of being together...


Mooncake Festival is a yearly highlight too when the kitchen seems to be swarmed with mooncakes, not to mention Cheng Beng, the winter solstice or Tang Chek. where the family prays to the departed ..



Other unexpected highlights include driving down to Teluk Batik, a picnic spot in Perak with Ah Seng...




Visiting Hoi Thien in Selama which is such a rare opportunity, and then being treated to a lavish dinner....

and stopping on the way, at a quaint little hill to visit a Buddhist Shrine in Pondok Tanjung...

Visiting Thuan Hee in Penang yearly is a highlight too...


But this year, surprisingly, he drove me to Sungai Bakap...

to visit his historical ancestral home...


Visiting Langkawi Island in Kedah...

Visiting The Lake of the Pregnant Maiden for the first time...



and stopping on the way to admire to serene scene at Gurun...


Going to Macao with Chin Heng and his friends is a highlight too...

and meeting Brad Pitt at Hong Kong Madam Tussuad's ...


Riding a balloon up Hong Kong sky in Hong Kong Ocean Park...

and watching Hong Kong light up at the Peak...

Visiting my nephew in Kuala Lumpur...

and exploring the shopping malls together...




Being there at my niece's N & G Art Gallery Drawing Contest cum Art Exhibition cum Concert cum Business Fair...





and have my paintings exhibited...


Getting myself a new Nikon 40 at a PC fair in Pisa, Penang...


Visiting old folk homes in Sungai Petani and Ipoh with Chin Heng, Eng Lai and Hoi Thien in an excursion organised by my niece's N& G Art Gallery and a Buddhist temple...




Occasional highlights of course is going to the local Lake Gardens to take some photos especially for my Dhamma Delights blog ...

Or having guests over at home...


The main highlight could well be my pilgrimage to India where I met new friends...

Besides getting a spiritual experience of meditating in Jetavana's Grove, Sravasti...

Doing dana which translates into act of generosity...

But then there are other unwritten highlights... like being there at my nephew's wedding, Ching Han's wedding and spending some quiet moments alone, contemplating....the past, present and future...
