In Terengganu, Malaysia, there is the gender-segregation licensing regulation that forbids operators of hair salons from providing haircut services to both men and women in the same premises. The law applies to both Muslims and non-Muslims and operators flouting the law would be fined or risk having their licences revoked. Not sure if operators are allowed to cut the hair of the opposite though. Personally, would you prefer your hairdresser to be of the same or different sex and what would be your criteria for choosing?
