Cunning as a Fox

Croc,
On land,
Cunning as a fox.

Fables don't paint a beautiful picture of animals, I suppose. Except for the owl which is wise,  the fox is cunning; the pig, fastidious; the spotted hyenas, cowardly scavengers; the shark, cruel; and the bat, evil and blood thirsty. The fox, a nocturnal animal, has been used successfully on fruit farms to control pests, getting rid of rodents without harming the fruits. Sly or not, the fox is a beneficial creature.
