The rain trees in the picturesque Lake Gardens in Taiping must have been there since I was born. The rain trees there are the pride of the town and yes, come to think about it again, they have been there since I was born. In fact, they are as old as Taiping town, if not older. They are over a hundred years old and I understand they were planted by the British when they were in power in Malaysia. To me, that was so long ago...
