Like Thumbelina.
Danish Hans Christian Andersen's Thumbelina has enthralled millions and millions of people, children and adults alike. The story of the little girl who is not taller than a thumb has been told and retold so many times in various media since 1835 and I wonder now if the story has been inspired by another no bigger then a thumb character in English folklore, Tom Thumb whose story began in 1621.
