Walk the street of Malacca and you may find it hot and humid, it being in the tropics. Take delights in the architecture of the old buildings. You probably would be attracted especially by the quaint Chinese temple there. If you care not for the Malaccan Chicken Rice, you can always go for a bowl of curry noodles and some ice kacang. The former is a curry soup based noodles and the latter, a dessert of shaved ice, red beans, sweet corn, glass jelly, agar-agar and a variety of other ingredients. The food here may be nyonya-influenced, Malacca being the home of the Peranakan Chinese or Baba-Nyonya, the terms used to define the descendants of late 15th and 16th-century Chinese immigrants who had settled here for good. You can influence food!
Walk the street of Malacca and hunt for food! Can you identify which is the ice kacang and which is the curry noodle?
