A Traveller's Tale: An Orange Spread

There are times when some roads in certain parts of Taiping are covered with yellow blooms of the angsana trees. The angsana tress or rather the Pterocarpus indicus is a species native to South East Asia. It is a large deciduous tree flowering from February to May. In Kuala Sepetang, you would sometimes see an orange spread instead but these are not blooms of any plant. You would be surprised to see little prawns spread out to dry under the sun and they are so orange and unnatural! If you add colour to any foodstuff, they are not natural at all!
What do you think this orange spread is?
