What is pagan isn't really bad. Take for example the practice of exchanging gifts. In winter, the pagans in Roman Saturnalia, said to be present day Italy, would besides having a big feast, exchange good-luck gifts called Stenae or lucky fruits. Exchanging gifts sounds so much like fun but then of course, there was this case I heard of, where everyone put their gifts in a box and an unfortunate soul who randomly picked her gift, drew a receipt of a hundred dollars that had been donated to a church. And the poor soul was not even a Christian! But then of course, you'd say it was the thought that counts. Well, does it?
