Which hotdog do you prefer?

The Malaysian Government will soon introduce a regulation requiring non-Muslims wishing to convert to Islam to inform their family. The Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi suggested a form or letter declaring that their families had been told and had understood his or her decision so as to prevent problems of families disputing the conversion of their loved ones when they die. He added that there is nothing wrong if people want to convert and there is nothing to hide . A religion, I suppose is a personal matter as well as a matter of preference. It's just like food and the food I have in mind now is hot dog. Now, which hot dog do you prefer?

Religion is a matter of one's faith in a particular religious "system". For me, it's a way of life. How I behave reflects my system of belief.

Say i am a Malaysian of legal age and i want to be converted to Islam, i NEED my family's consent? Does that mean that one can't be a Muslim in Malaysia without his/her family's permission?
