Which is fact, which is fiction? According to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, condom is an invention of Douglas Stirling. Whoever this Douglas Stirling was, I have no clue but another source has stated that Dr Condom, Cundum or even Quondam, a figure during the reign of Charles II, had invented a sheep-gut sheath- a condom, I suppose. Anyway, the oldest surviving condom is made of pig intestine and has been found in Lund, Sweden. It is a reusable condom and dates back to 1640. The condom and its original users’ manual written in Latin, are completely intact. This antique has been displayed before in an Austrian museum. Today, I am having a little virtual exhibition of condoms, a condom carnival of sort….
