Temperatures in Malaysia’s highland areas including the major hill resorts are rising. In Penang Hill, a woman who operates a drink kiosk at the peak said that more than 30 years ago, the weather in Penang Hill was so cold that even the cooking oil in tin containers would solidify. Today, the oil remains in the same form even on the coldest days . The temperature presently has risen 1°C or 2°C but these small changes can cause major changes in the rainfall and weather patterns, which in turn, can affect crops. It would be nice if human hearts grow warmer instead. Warm hearts may not cause such adverse changes. Besides, we need warm hearts to bring smiles to our faces, many are just too dreary in this demanding world.
