Soothe the weary heart.
A long time ago, western tourists who visit the country were often spotted with paperbacks; and I suppose they read while alone, while waiting for transport for instance; to kill the free time and boredom. With smartphones easily available , I wouldn't be surprised if paperbacks are things of the past.
