A Traveller's Tale: A Place to Party

Kellie's Castle is not your typical castle, one that has a moat around it, a drawbridge or a jagged wall where soldiers could stand guard. It is not anything like those castles one would see in a Robin Hood movie. However, it has at the highest floor,  a rooftop courtyard meant  for parties. William Kellie Smith had meant his castle to be the hub for entertaining wealthy colonial planters. That reminds me of Persepolis, the ceremonial capital of the Achaemenid Empire near modern day Shiraz, Iran. The late Mohammad Reza Pahlavi , once Shah of Iran, had had a lavish party with 600 of his prominent guests there to celebrate the 2,500 year celebration of the Persian Empire. Wealthy people always hold lavish parties!
