A Traveller's Tale: The Kalumpang Islands

Just the other day, someone was talking about visiting Philippines and then suddenly there arose this question of why Philippines is sometimes referred to as the Philippines. It was argued that it is because Philippines is made up of many islands and this of course raised the next question of why America is sometimes referred to the USA and why Indonesia has not been referred to as the Indonesia. Back to Kalumpang Island, I would be tempted to call it the Kalumpang Islands for here, there are actually a few islands, some as small as 2 square kilometers and with such unglamorous names as Pulau Satu, Dua, Tiga, Empat, Lima, Enam and Tujuh, that is Island One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six and Seven. Pulau Kalumpang is near Bamboo Island. Besides Kalumpang Island, excavation has been carried out elsewhere, mainly in Island One to Five. There is no clear demarcation for the islands, I suppose, and one would not even notice or realise that we are on an island, let alone, nine islands. We just have to take a short hike from the first site to the next site through what I suppose is Bamboo Island. God never mean to demarcate the land He bestows man!

Taking a short hike... Can you identify the plants here?
