Do you know where your child is now? Do you know what is he doing? Spend quality time with your children! I think I have heard these announcements several times over the local radio. It is only now that I start wondering about what quality time actually is. Quality time is supposed to be a relatively new expression, becoming common only since the 70s. An early records of this phrase in print was in 1973 in The Capital, a newspaper in Maryland, USA. Here, it refers to time spent with loved ones, not just close family members but partners as well, which is in some way important, special, productive or profitable. It is time when one pays full and undivided attention to another person. Now, do you spend quality time with your children?
