There has been a report that, unknown to Britons, Britain has gone halal. That means that meat are being prepared the traditional Islamic way. In a British slaughterhouse, an animal is usually knocked out first with a bolt gun. The new method involves killing an animal by drawing a knife across its throat without first stunning it. Syaria law, the report says, would have it that the animal remains sentient when its throat is cut, and the blood allowed to drip from the carcass while a religious phrase in praise of Allah is recited. Animal welfare campaigners however are not happy about it as they think that this method is cruel and causes unnecessary pain. Either way, the the animal is dead meat!
