A Traveller's Tale: Sweet Treats

Leaving Kuala Lumpur for home was rather memorable. I hitched a ride with Swee Ling who was then visiting Malacca with some friends from Hong Kong. But that was before I made a two days one night trip out of Kuala Lumpur to Bentong, Pahang with Eng Lai where we had some sweet treats. Bentong, it was said, is famous for ais kacang, a sweet and popular dessert in Malaysia and Singapore which is primarily ice served with sweet flavoured syrup and jelly. Despite its fame, it was not the best ais kacang we had but then, beggars shouldn't be chooser. Just count your sweet blessing!
