A telecommunications consultant was reportedly lured by a high-paying job which runs into six figure US dollars to Somalia but three months later, he together with five other people whom he had recruited, had to run for their life. A rich telco's owner had wanted him to set up a mobile telephone network using the excellent facilities in Hargeisa, Somaliland’s capital city but most probably, he did not count on the incompetent local workers and the new CEO who witheld their pay and claimed they had not performed. The men were bullied and feeling threatened in a lawless place, they decided to flee but were chased all the way right up to the runway of the airport by the employer’s henchmen. They were lucky to have avoided detection by blending in with a crowd of Chinese tourists. Perhaps, the grass is not always greener on the other side!
