A Traveller's Tale: An Indian Temple in Nibong Tebal

A brief rest at the Noble House and then it was off for a riding spree. Thuan Hee drove me round Nibong Tebal, the little town in Seberang Perai, Penang which is bordered by other small towns, Parit Buntar in Perak and Bandar Baharu in Kedah. Thuan Hee had a brochure and we went looking for an old church, an old mansion and even a school. Methodist Primary and Secondary Schoo reputedly were the oldest school there but mm..mm...if it's building you are looking for, then, here isn't really much to see. Perhaps, you'd just settle for Sithi Vinayagar Devasthana Temple in the very heart of Nibong Tebal. The Indian temple is small but like most Southern Indian temples, it is colourful. The roof and ceiling are beautifully decorated with statues and you'd at that moment be mesmerised and not mind being an idol worshipper. Now, what's wrong with worshiping idols?

An Indian temple in Nibong Tebal...Can you see the beautiful statues there?

Very nice colors. Probably they have other auspicious colors as those Chinese. The Chenese temples you photografed before had more red color.

Red is auspicious to the Chinese. Will have to ask Ponni, my Indian friend about the colours in the HIndu temple.
