A Traveller's Tale: A Gem of a Chinese temple

If you'd like the Indian Temple in Nibong Tebal, maybe you'd like the Chinese temple there too! Just drive around the town, walk too, if you want and you'd come across this exquisite little gem. Don't expect the grandeur or spaciousness of the Thean Hou Temple in Kuala Lumpur. The carved pillars of the Chinese temple in Nibong Tebal reminds of pillars in the Khoo Kongsi in Penang Island and would delight some; just liked the colourful, sculpted doors which feature the door gods would enthrall some others. For me, I think the roofs were rather special - more elaborate than many I have seen... Indeed, people are pleased by different things...

Now, would the pillars, doors or roof of the temple please you?

This is beauty. But the columns on the first photo are not only very interesting but strainge too: so different from all other colors...

Did not think so much of the columns because we are used to seeing it; most probably it originates from Southern China. Anyway, there is other interesting newer column such as the one at Kek Lok Si in Penang. http://dhammadelights.blogspot.com/2010/01/joy-is-pavillion.html
