A Traveller's Tale: Assam Laksa Delights

After the stroll along the bank of the Krian River, it was back to Thuan Hee's ancestral home- but not before tucking in some asam laksa, a sour fish-based soup eaten with rice noodles. It has been said that Nibong Tebal specialises in Teochew cuisine and there is a demand especially for crab porridge. However, I only remember having eaten some marvellous asam laksa here many many years back and yes, I was more gamed for more of it. Everyone, I think wants more of the good old things.

Below are two versions of assam laksa. Which one do you think comes from Nibong Tebal? Clue: It is tastier!

They say, it's good for health to drink and to eat soya. It's possible to buy it here too but soya in this part of the world, they say, is mostly genetically modifyed. And I do not believe this techniques are good.

I have heard about it beeing a healthy food too but haven't heard that it is genetically modified. However, many other fruits have been modified; apples, oranges, etc; they are bigger these days.
