A Traveller's Tale: By the River of Perak

One day, while we were watching television in the living room, my nephew told her mom that he would be making a working trip to Kuala Kangsar the next day. Ah! Kuala Kangsar, the royal and historical town of Perak! I am going with you! I invited myself. It was not the first time that I would visit this town which was said to be located at the downstream of Kangsar River, where it flows into th Perak River. My nephew would be busy with his work and I would be left alone and unattended but well, I have always been my own good company and the world had just been served to me on a silver platter! Just drop me by the bank of Perak River, I said. There are stalls selling traditional handicrafts there and I would entertain myself there. So, the next morning saw me travelling to Kuala Kangsar with my nephew and it was my lucky day too! A morning farmer's market, Pasar Tani, was on and I got to see people selling different kind of goods, from vegetables to fishes, traditional cakes to traditional medicines and of course, having lived in Malaysia all my life, I have seen all these but the excitement has not yet waned...
