A Private Orphanage

Visited an Old Folk Home not long ago and now it seems like the turn of an orphanage. A niece of mine asked if I would be free on Sunday and yes, since I was, I decided to tag along to a privately run orphanage in Taiping to treat the orphans there to a simple lunch.The orphanage used to have one small miserable building but now, it has a block of three storey building housing a dorm, classrooms, dining room cum hall and a little office. There are more than 80 Indian children in the orphanage but not all are orphans. Some are there because their parents are too poor to feed them and I guess then it is appropriately called Rumah Kanak-kanak Taiping which means Taiping Childrens' Home. The orphanage has survived through private donation from various races. It's really wonderful to know that there are people out there who regardless of creed and color,care enough to pool their little resources together to allow these children to live a better life.

About 5-7 years ago were closed all madhousees in Italy. The persons tha lived there all their life did not know where to go. There were completely normal people there too. When they were babies and little children, their mothers that had not money to give them to eat, gave them to the madhouses. Persons about 70 years old perfectly healthy that passed all entire life in madhouse, no one step out...

Oh! Sounds like a page tore out out from Charles Dickens's novel! And it's happening in modern times!
