Local tabloid, The Star, reported that HK tycoon, Stanley Ho, sent a giant wreath of over 2m high to the late Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong's family. I had thought that Stanley Ho is a tycoon from Macao but well, since I don’t know any tycoon, the paper may as well be right. Anyway, the media has been giving a lot of publicity on the death of the founder of the Genting Group of Malaysia. I heard a short, sweet eulogy by the DJ of the local radio this morning and browsing through the papers, I have also found that besides friends and employees, corporate giants and royalty have made their way to Gohtong Villa to pay their last respects. Wreaths came from as far as Caesar Palace in Las Vegas and it is no wonder. The New York Times has reported the late Lim as the casino king of Malaysia who turned a jungle hilltop into one of the world’s most successful casino resorts and the man was ranked 204th on the Forbes 2007 list of billionaires worldwide, with his family’s assets valued at $4.2 billion. Now with a father like that, what could you give him for his birthday?
