Good Fat, Bad Fat

Fat can lower your risk of heart disease; monosaturated fat that is - found in avocados, nuts and seeds. Polysaturated fat, like omega-3 fatty acid and omega-6 fatty acid found in some fish and walnuts, even help you with depression and lower blood pressure. It’s when you take red meat, butter, milk or ice cream that you start having health problems. Saturated fat found in these foods contributes to high cholesterol but then you have to be greedy and overeat to really see the effects. Then of course, there is also this bad fat - trans fat. Trans fat which is super-unhealthy, causing such deadly diseases like breast cancer, colon cancer and diabetes, is a by-product of the process called hydrogenation. Good fat will go through this process and will turn bad when food are packaged or fried. You see, many a times, bad things are man-made.
