It's great news when a male sperm whale has a bit of indigestion! An upset stomach from eating squids will cause it to produce ambergris which looks very much like rocks but these are really highly valued as ingredient in perfume and pharmaceuticals. A ten- year -old vacationing in Wales was reported to stumble across a lump of such rocks worth nearly $6,000 while a New Yorker receives a lump which cost about $18 ooo. It is no wonder perfume is so expensive!
