Father and Son

I believe the decision to drop the Atomic bombs was correct. War is unpleasant and, as many commenters have noted, Japan gave a lot worse, in Nanking and all over Asia. The bombs stopped the war. If we had invaded Japan, casualties on both sides would have dwarfed those suffered from the bombs .My father was on one of those troopships heading for Japan that August. His life was spared thanks to the bomb.

The Atomic Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki killed about 250.000 people.
Their lives were not spared, thanks to the bomb. Among the dead, I am sure were someone’s father, too.
