A lecturer questioned a student about her belief. While you say that you couldn't eat an animal; then, why is it that you can eat plants? Aren't plants living things too? Forget about health issues such as veggies having no cholesterol and that stuff. If you have seen man killing animals for food, you may perhaps have seen all that blood and gore. Perhaps, you love seeing those blood spurting and the terror in those animals' eyes. That would be unlike watching a violent Hollywood or Hong Kong movie. An animal would not stand still for you to finish it off . It would run, signifying how it values its life and some have even been said to have shed tears during the crucial moment of death standing at the doorstep.Imagine those moments before death, their nerves tingling.... how painful would the creature be, never mind that they don't have their next of kins to feel the pains of loss. Unlike the nerveless plants too, animals when chopped off do not regrow. Actually, it really all comes down to compassion, dear lecturer. If you can't see that as a learned man, well, you'll just get a blink of compassion for an answer.
